Let's Begin!!!
This is my very first article on any platform. Being a teacher I was thinking to write on this topic since very long but could not get the energy to do so.
Every time I thought it’s just useless to write on such topic as today people are so tempted by advertising/social trends and ego lifestyle but then I realised ignoring an issue is not the solution to it. So here are my words!!!!
When I was in my childhood My Dad used to say, follow your own destiny and do what-ever you aim (I am saying this with respect to education and career).
This is very good approach, but as I grew up, did my GCSE and went abroad for Graduation and work experience I realised that most of us follow just normal fields/careers.
I am pointing towards selection of career and choosing a way for earning. Normally students choose careers based upon advice from parents/uncle or some guardian, other than this they have some role model in their family which the parents keeping on mentioning i.e. he/she is doing this, earing this much, living a lavish life. Etc. etc.
Every individual is being gifted with some special quality and feature which he or she is good at. This needs to be identified and then great level of effort is required to polish their ability/quality to transform them into a great potential for future.
If you don’t do this and keep forcing your kid to be a Doctor, Accountant, or some Business Man believe me you will succeed in your aim but your child will never achieve what he is destined for.
Don’t force anything on them with regards to education and career, rather provide them with opportunities to explore them self.
Provide them facilities for different activities like Painting, games, swimming and horse-riding etc.
Teach them from child hood how to research; this is very basic skill which students lack these days. They are very quick at putting questions. Such habit (research) will help them to learn self-study, rather than wait for someone who will understand their issue and then.
Once you provide them with open opportunities they will follow what they like then as parents you should closely monitor them analysing what they are good at. Provide them with all they support (like good trainer /learning material/ good institute) and most importantly with encouragement which will enhance their confidence.
This way, they will find their career and you will be very comfortable that they are happy with their respective field
